Tanned Leather Notebooks

£16.00

I have selected these notebooks for their designs but also the environmental way they have been tanned.

These environmentally friendly notebooks made in India use vegetable tanning to create the cover. Vegetable tanning was the major tanning method until the 20th century and is now growing in importance once again. It uses extracts of barks, leaves, fruits, berries, roots and wood. This method of tanning is safe for the environment and leather workers. Vegetable tanned leather is left to breathe and can take up to 2 weeks to dry until they turn a beautiful beige colour. These notebooks will age beautifully over time.

The notebooks are blank pages without lines which make them great for journaling for those of us who doodle, draw and scribble as well as write. Each one measures 20 × 15 cm.

The designs are:

  • Cosmic Goddess

  • Tibetan Mandala

  • Tree of Life
